I have lost the link to original recipe, but it is fairly simple. Basically you peel a very ripe banana and freeze it. I often buy the 99 cent bags of overripe bananas that the grocery store sells. When you are ready to make the ice cream remove the banana from the freezer and defrost it on the counter or microwave. Once you have slightly defrosted the banana (it should still be almost has hard as ice) cut it into smaller pieces and puree it in a food processor. You will need to add a splash of cow’s milk, soy milk, rice milk, etc to get the right consistency. To keep your ice cream from becoming too soupy make sure you don’t defrost it too long or add too much liquid. The finished product should be similar to soft serve ice cream. You can also add vanilla, Splenda, peanut butter or other flavorings.
Now that it is summer time we have been making banana ice cream again.

Katelyn enjoys the ice cream too. She had blue hands this day because we had been to summer reading at the library. The washable markers weren't that washable.
She has a mean face too.
