Fall Sewing Projects

Last year I made Katelyn a fall pillowcase dress.  This year I decided to sew one for Halloween.  I used a pattern I found on Sew Like My Mom.  I love this pattern because I don't have have to use my pinking shears or zigzag my seams.  The pattern has you fold over and stitch the side seams.  This keeps the fabric from fraying when you wash the dress.  The dress was so easy.  I will definitely be making several this summer.

I also used the pheasant dress pattern from Sew Like My Mom for Katelyn's Strawberry Shortcake dress.

I re-purposed an old t-shirt of Hunter's into a t-shirt dress for Katelyn. The skirt fabric was leftover from her pillowcase dress last year and the fabric flower was from her headband. The dress ended up being longer and bigger than I would have liked. I think part of the issue was that I used a boy 24 month t-shirt, which was really more like a girl 3T.  The good news I think she will likely be able to wear it next fall too.
