One of the reason we wanted to buy a house with a little more land is so we could plant a garden. Both of our families have always had a garden and we both miss having fresh produce. You would think that this being our first garden that we might have started out small, but that is not the case. The gardening process began last fall when Jonathan mowed the garden. This was difficult job since no one had ever maintained this area of our property. He then tilled it and the garden untouched this winter. A couple weeks of ago we had a truckload of topsoil delivered so we could amend our soil. Since our garden is on a hill, we had to have to load dumped in our backyard, and then Jonathan shoveled it into his pickup and drove around the back of the property then shoveled all the soil onto the garden site. After hauling several loads of soil he then tilled the garden again. A few days ago he planted all the spring plants, and now we are waiting for everything to sprout.

Hunter was excited that a truck came to his house.
Jonathan had to move most of this soil to the hill in the background.
Hunter is not much of a gardener. It is hard for him to walk in the soil, and once he falls down he doesn't like to touch the soil. This makes it a bit difficult to stand back up. At one point he fell face first into a pile of soil and he ended up getting it in his mouth and up his nose. The rest of the evening he mostly set on the ground throwing dirt clods and whining.
Jonathan planting. This really is just a portion of the garden. Jonathan estimated that is is about 500 square feet.
